Haven Under Siege
Artist Carolyn Wolf
Acrylic on 20"x24" Gallery Wrapped Canvas
The garden was supposed to be the one place where the world couldn't reach. But lately, the gate feels thin.
In Haven Under Siege, that sanctuary has become a contested space. While the flowers still bloom, the silence of meditation has been broken by the weight of what’s happening outside the walls. In the background, military agents stand guard against a graffiti-scarred backdrop, a cold, sharp reminder that collective unrest doesn't stop at the garden's edge.
This piece is about the mental load of the modern world. It’s a meditation on the grit required to keep tending to what is beautiful and living, even when the background is filled with shadows and weapons. It is a visual lament for the peace we try to protect, and an honor to the quiet endurance it takes to remain soft when everything feels under threat.

Experience the Work
There is a specific energy in the texture and scale of A Mothers Vigil that truly needs to be felt in person. The physical weight of the acrylic and the delicate, layered nuances of the garden, contrasted against the intrusive shadows of the world, reveal themselves best when you are standing right in front of the canvas.
